Neville Goddard says, “The time it takes your assumption to become fact, your desire to be fulfilled, is directly proportionate to the NATURALNESS of your feeling of already being what you want to be… of already having what you desire.” How can we make what we desire feel natural to us, now? Neville Goddard talks about techniques on how to do this. It’s a daily practice to do throughout your day. There are 2 steps to feel it natural: 1) to see past the 3D (physical) world into your preferred world and 2) using your “be-attitude” & changing the feeling of “I”. Let’s learn how to do this.
Seeing Past the 3D World to Feel it Natural
To see past the 3D world, go into imagination right where you are to see what you want to see. You can do this by focusing on an object and think to yourself, “what do I really want to see” and focus your attention on THAT new idea, instead of the 3D object. This is putting yourself in your ideal world to make it feel more natural.
Neville says in 03-25-1968,
“FOLLOW THE PATTERN”,
“Knowing there is nothing but Imagination, Blake said: “Double the vision my eyes do see. Double vision is always with me. With my inner eye it is an old man gray, with my outer a thistle across the way.”
“Every day, with my old friend Abdullah I would practice this art. At dinner he would ask me to look at the lampshade. He didn’t mean for me to see the lampshade – anyone can do that – but to focus my attention through it. Looking beyond, I would see living, breathing human faces. Other times he would ask me to look at a car, a house, a wall – not with my outer eyes but with my inner eye; and when I did, I would always see Man. When I first began to do this I had to break it, because I could feel myself moving through and beyond this world, to see an entirely different world. That’s Imagination!”
We must step into this new world in imagination and bring this new world into our 3D (physical) reality. Neville mentions that we “penetrate” this new world of imagination like a sperm penetrates an egg. (Click link for Neville’s video). You just go right in into imagination; and when you are “in” feel the tones of reality making the scene vividly real.
Be-attitude and Changing the Feeling of “I”
What the heck is Be-attitude? Be-attitude is keeping a positive attitude flowing by living or coming back to this ideal imaginative world. It’s “Being” what you want to be or assuming you have what you want to have. It’s an attitude of being “it” and keeping the ideal alive in you.
By being this new attitude, knowing who you are, you are clothing yourself into your new image. You are removing your “I “ from the old state and developing into a new state like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. This concept is changing states.
When you clothe yourself in this new concept of self or new “I”, you are lifting yourself up and placing yourself in the new state of a higher level of being. When you change your “I”, your outer world will also make a change. So, stay persistent in keeping this new “I” daily. It’s a daily death dying to your old self and reclothing your “I” to a higher desired level. It is like taking off the old garments and putting on new ones. For instance, when you are not feeling well, you can say, “I feel great!” The more you wear this new state of being, the more natural it will feel.
Change the Feeling of I by Incorporation Transformation
Furthermore, you could also use what is in your 3D (physical) world to makeshift your 4D (imaginal desires) to become reality. For example, if you are eating at a restaurant by yourself, pretend you are eating with your Special Person. See him holding your hand with wedding rings. Say to yourself, “I always eat dinner with my SP because we are married.” Another example is washing dishes, pretend you are washing dishes at your new home. You can say to yourself with feeling, “I love my new home. This sink is so pretty.”
Incorporate 4D into your 3D. This takes practice, but it helps with bringing the desires to feel natural and lifelike now. See what you rather see. Rewrite your physical scene with your imaginal eyes. Do a little “pretending”. See the pun in that word… Pre- tend? You are bringing your subjective idea (imaginal idea) to objective (3D reality). You are overlapping reality. As you practice, it will help you to believe that you are what you want to be. You are claiming your truth by incorporating imaginal ideas with 3D reality.
This incorporation transformation is changing the feeling of your “I”. It is bringing the new you out. You can confirm, “Yes, I AM that I AM! I am living proof. I just had dinner with my SP. We always eat together because I am married to him.
You also transformed your “I” by washing dishes. I just washed dishes in my new sink. I love having a new house. You have extracted yourself from the old you to the new you. You are pulling your old self out and into your new self. Claiming your new “I”. When you think back in your memory, your memory will say, “yes, you did do those things.”
Doubt can not say, “this is a lie!” for you know who you are now and you have experienced it in imagination with feeling. You have touched the state of being it. You have felt the tones of reality. So, therefor it is true. You are THAT which you want to be because you have experienced it. You have felt the naturalness of it.
Persevere in this action daily until it truly becomes a full natural part of you. This incorporation will eventually become so natural that it becomes the ideal you.
Neville Goddard explains it here in “Imagination in You, the Hope of Glory”.
He says, “Your desires are not subjective, intangible things, but solidly real. Begin to awaken the Christ in you by clothing your subjective desires in objective reality. I promise you, the day you do this, they will become facts in your world. Have an aim that you will not lie to yourself anymore. Work on this feature within yourself. Become extremely observant and honest with yourself and watch the energy that formerly moved into negative states, flow into your greater aim.
Perhaps your aim is to become a great teacher, not because you want to impose your will upon others, but because you want to awaken in others what you have awakened in yourself. The awakening begins when you feel a separation; a division of the natural and the spiritual imaginative you to which all things are possible. It is this spiritual you that clothes your subjective state in reality.
By changing the feeling of “I,” you can direct your life internally and escape the prison of your present state regardless of what it may be. By thinking from the point of view that the problem is solved, you move from the problem to its solution. This change of attitude is called the Be-attitudes. In other words, you are” being” what you want to be by assuming that you already are it.
When you know what you want, consciously clothe yourself in a new concept of self by extracting your “I” from the evidence of the senses and placing it in the place you want to be. By this assumption (or be-attitude), you have journeyed from one state to another. “And I, if I be lifted up, I draw all men to me.”
Once you have lifted yourself up into the new states abide there! Do not come back to the testimonies of your, senses, but remain in your desire until a different world is established. Every change in the feeling of “I” automatically produces changes in the external world; therefore, you must learn to die daily to your old beliefs. The statement, “Those who lose their life for my sake will find it,” means letting go of all that you now consent to. If you lose it, you will find your “I” reclothing itself on a higher level of beings; thereby causing a new expression in your world.”
Conclusion: How to Feel it Natural as You Wait
In conclusion, to feel your desires natural as you wait, you must see past the 3D world using your imagination by incorporating what you do want to see instead, and use your “Be-attitude” by being your new ideal self by changing the feeling of “I” as you walk this new journey. I am that I am.
Live in this new feeling or attitude and do not look back on the old life. If you feel you fell out of state, just get right back in doing this exercise. Neville says it’s easy to fall out of state. He says when we do, just realize it and get back in.
Everything depends on your attitude towards yourself. That which you will not affirm as true of yourself can never be realized by you, for that attitude alone is the necessary condition by which you realize your goal.
Neville Goddard, The Power of Awareness
Make sure you feel what you did is TRUE. Otherwise, you will not realize your goal.
Also, if you do not feel this becoming a natural part of you, you will not bear its fruit.
